AutoCAD 2007 introduced the —a Contextual, task-oriented palette containing tools for 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and rendering. While modern users are familiar with the Ribbon (introduced in 2009), the Dashboard was its direct ancestor. It reduced screen clutter and brought the most relevant tools to the foreground based on what you were doing.
