For the uninitiated, "Become a Legend" (BAL) is PES’s answer to FIFA’s "Player Career Mode." Instead of controlling an entire team, managing transfers, and setting ticket prices, you control a single player. You start as a 17 to 19-year-old prospect with mediocre stats, a unique face (if you design one), and a dream. Your goal is to break into the starting eleven, win individual awards, and eventually captain your national team.
