This paper presents a forensic analysis of a specific nulled version of the OptinMonster plugin (version 2.1.7), a popular lead-generation tool. We compare its codebase against the legitimate commercial release to identify injected malicious payloads, backdoor mechanisms, and data exfiltration routines. Our findings indicate that the nulled version contains obfuscated PHP backdoors, unauthorized admin user creation routines, and beaconing to remote command-and-control (C2) servers.
