ViGEm solves this by creating a "virtual" Xbox 360 or DualShock 4 controller on your system. Wrapper applications (like DS4Windows or HidHide) take the input from your physical controller and "feed" it into the ViGEm Bus. Windows then sees a "fake" Xbox controller connected, ensuring 100% compatibility with any game that supports standard gamepads.
