Contrary to Western pop culture, the Kamasutra is just a book of sex positions. It was composed by the sage Vatsyayana in ancient India (between the 2nd and 4th centuries CE). The word "Kama" means desire—not just sexual, but aesthetic, emotional, and artistic desire. "Sutra" means thread or aphorism.
