The double-disc project is primarily a collection of material recorded during 2Pac's prolific tenure at Death Row Records (1995–1996). While much of the original production was remixed to suit the contemporary R&B and hip-hop landscape of the early 2000s, the raw emotional weight of Shakur’s vocals remained the central focus.

They stripped the original beat, replaced it with a soaring, synth-laden R&B instrumental, and brought in singer to sing a brand-new hook. The result was a complete reimagining—moving from gritty introspection to epic, cinematic tragedy.
