Standard game logic dictates that if you see a key, it opens a door. In Doll Room , the key might be a severed finger, and the door might be a screaming mouth. The game actively fights the player’s intuition. Text boxes appear with gibberish text or haunting philosophical questions that have no answer. Sound effects are distorted, playing at frequencies designed to cause anxiety. The "Doll Room" soundtrack is a cacophony of broken music boxes, static, and reversed audio.
