Episode 3, "Carentan," depicts the brutal house-to-house fighting to secure the vital port city. The city center still looks much as it did. While technically in the UK, this is where the men became a family. Aldbourne is a picturesque English village in Wiltshire. The village square is almost unchanged. You can stand outside the Blue Boar pub (now a private residence) where the men drank. Visit the Norman church of St. Michael’s, where many of the men attended services before D-Day.
