Brad (Jimmy Wolk, in his prime) graduates college with honors. Despite his academic success, every interview for a teaching position ends the moment he tics. School administrators smile nervously, shuffle papers, and mutter about "parent concerns" and "classroom management." Brad lives with his supportive mother, Ellen (Patricia Heaton), and a distant, ashamed father (Treat Williams) who believes his son simply isn’t trying hard enough to control himself. The rejection is relentless. At one point, Brad counts 24 failed interviews.

Brad uses his own struggles to connect with students who feel "different"—whether they have learning disabilities, difficult home lives, or social anxieties.

The photos were terrible. Red eyes. Greasy foreheads. A girl mid-sneeze. You uploaded them to MySpace or Flickr at 3 AM on your dial-up connection (okay, maybe DSL), and you tagged them with captions like: "Vegas Baby!!!" or "Tuesday night? YOLO before YOLO existed."
