Test Description goes like this
The "lyrics" functioned as a trailer. Since buying a comic required privacy, the lyrics would be sung at bus stops or in village tea shops, creating word-of-mouth demand. You would hear a catchy, risqué rhyme, and that would drive you to buy the comic to see the "story" play out visually.
The vocal style was intentionally nasal and "rustic" (Gami Sinhala), distancing the art from the refined "Nurthi" or classical "Ragadhari" music played on Radio Ceylon.
