In the aftermath of the tragedy, the families of the victims received an outpouring of support from fans, fellow artists, and the wider music industry. A benefit concert was held to support the families, and various tributes were paid to the victims.

Over 4,000 lawsuits were filed against Scott, event promoter Live Nation, and numerous other entities. The cases were consolidated into a massive litigation. In a landmark move, Scott and Live Nation eventually established a $750 million settlement fund to compensate the victims' families and injured survivors.

Over 300 others suffered injuries including broken ribs, spinal damage, collapsed lungs, and severe PTSD.

For the families, that responsibility came too late. Ezra Blount’s grandfather, speaking outside the courthouse, put it simply:

The legacy of the victims of the Astroworld disaster will live on, and their memory will serve as a reminder of the importance of safety and responsibility in the music industry.
