He strongly opposed fatalism. For him, astrology was a tool for Dharma (righteous living). If a chart showed a marriage hurdle, he did not simply say "divorce"; instead, he analyzed the Nakshatra compatibility and suggested specific Vratas (fasts) and prayers to the family deity ( Kula Deivam ). He believed that the grace of the Goddess Kamakshi of Kanchipuram could override weak planetary placements.
