Under the hood, Etabs 9.6 used the same SAP engine (SAP2000) for solving stiffness matrices. For linear static and response spectrum analysis, a model that takes 30 seconds to run on a modern laptop might take 45 seconds on 9.6—negligible difference. The solver is still mathematically correct.
