In an age of bloated 22-episode seasons and forgettable filler, In Plain Sight proves that consistency is a virtue. The complete 2008–2012 run offers 61 episodes of tight plotting, hilarious banter, and genuine emotional stakes.

Set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, In Plain Sight centered on the Southwest Regional Office of the U.S. Marshals Service. Unlike traditional cop shows that focus on "the collar," this series focused on the "afterlife."

Focused heavily on the "Witness of the Week" format, establishing the high-desert noir aesthetic of Albuquerque.

What set In Plain Sight apart was Mary’s disastrous personal life. While she was an expert at keeping strangers safe, she struggled to keep her own family from imploding.

Highly recommended for fans of Justified , Burn Notice , or The Closer . Binge it, buy it, and believe the hype.

The series is built on a "procedural" foundation, with most episodes featuring a "witness of the week" who requires relocation or protection. However, a major driving force of the show is Mary's struggle to balance her high-stakes career with her chaotic personal life.

Mary’s mother, a recovering alcoholic who often relies on Mary for stability.
