Projects like Tangerine, filmed entirely on iPhones, brought a raw, unfiltered look at the lives of trans sex workers in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, shows like Euphoria and The Umbrella Academy have integrated trans characters (and actors like Hunter Schafer and Elliot Page) into storylines where their gender identity is a part of their character, but not the entirety of their plot.
