"The pack works, but everything is glitching white."
The pack works by editing assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/lightmap.png (or lightmaps/lightmap.png in some versions). A good Fullbright pack for 1.8.8 replaces that image with a fully white or bright gradient. Some also adjust sky color or remove fog. fullbright texture pack 1.8.8
