The community has solved this problem. Programs like or WoT Numbers can analyze the header of a replay file to tell you exactly which game version created it.

Sometimes the file extension is simply wrong. Some browsers rename .wotreplay files to .wotreplay.zip or just .zip by mistake. The community has solved this problem
