Introduced with Android 5.1 Lollipop, FRP is a security method designed to prevent thieves from factory resetting a stolen device and using it as their own. Once a Google account is synced to an Android device, FRP is activated. If the device is factory reset via recovery mode, the system will demand the Google account email and password that were previously synced.
