The patch was not originally hosted on that site or in that collection. A user specifically asked (requested) for the patch to be uploaded, linked, or re-uploaded, and the site admin or a community member fulfilled that request.

On archive sites (like Internet Archive or certain VN databases), “Added by Request” distinguishes user-requested uploads from curated, always-hosted content.

In this context, "Added By Request" usually means that the patch was not widely circulating on the public web
